The 21st century has put today’s society always on the go. Everyone is busy and the hectic schedules have made the people to pay less attention on their eating habits. A healthy and balanced diet improves one health because proper nourishment heals the body from illness and disease. Various studies and scientific research has proved that a balanced and a complete diet includes variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats and oils and exercise every day keeps a person active and healthy and keeps the body for the whole day inbetter position.
If we pay an attention to the type of nutrients that our require to function in a healthy way will make a positive difference in our health. A healthy diet needs to consist the variation of food rich in vitamins, fats, proteins, minerals and carbohydrates for the proper functioning of our body. A person should set a good menu for a balanced diet. A well balanced diet includes whole grains such as oatmeal, whole wheat bread and brown rice. The body gets proteins from these type of grains. Good carbohydrate supplies our body that energy that we need to be active and help to control blood, sugar and insulin levels from rising and falling too quickly. Healthy fats and oils are also an important part of a balanced diet. Healthy fats and oils include olive, canola, sunflower and corn oils which are good to be included in a balanced diet. A variety of fruits and vegetables when eaten raw or cooked has several benefits for the body. Cooking fruits and vegetables have their own importance but if the fruits and vegetables are eaten in a raw form then these fruits and vegetables become more beneficial for the body because when these are consumed in raw form they retain more nutrients.
For more nourishment of our body, there should be a significant source of protein, fiber and minerals included in a balanced diet. Proteins, fibers and other valuable minerals exist in nuts and beans like garbanzo or navy beans, walnuts and pistachios are the rich source. A well balanced diet in it’s menu will include fish for the omega-3 and chicken or turkey as a source of proteins for the health of body.
When we are planning a balanced diet menu there needs to be a source of vitamin D. This can come from the source of dairy products like low fat milk or cheese in the form of supplement. The last thing that a balanced diet menu needs to contain in it self is red meat and butter, this what our body needs the least. Red meat in it self contains high saturated fats that has not much but a little bit nutritional value for our body. The other foods that should be consumed include white bread, rice, pasta, potatoes and other sugary foods. These foods are high in carbohydrates so they should be consumed in a less amount.
Our body is like a machine that needs proper fuel and maintenance to continue running at it’s best performance levels!!
